The Las Vegas Raiders’ need for a franchise quarterback is well known at this point, but it is looking like they will be in prime position to draft one as this season goes on. One of the top prospects at the position remains University of Colorado star Shedeur Sanders, son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders who is also his coach with the Buffaloes.

There have been rumors of Sanders wanting to join the Raiders franchise for some time now, with his father even saying that he wouldn’t mind Shedeur being part of the silver and black. And now maybe there is another sign that he is hopeful to come to Las Vegas.

The Raiders dropped their sixth consecutive game on Sunday to the Miami Dolphins, and Matt D of 365 Sports noted that after each loss, Sanders has sent out a tweet the following day that could insinuate he’s happy with the Raiders dropping games and improving their draft position:

This could be a bit of a reach as it is very possible that Sanders simply sends this out every week. And it is worth noting that he did also send this message a week ago when the Raiders were on a bye and didn’t actually lose a game.

Even still it can’t be denied that the Raiders are moving up that draft board, currently tied for the second-worst record in the league at 2-8 alongside the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans. The Jacksonville Jaguars are currently at the top of the draft at 2-9, though they have yet to have their bye week so things could change soon.

Sanders has been outstanding so far this season completing 72.9% of his passes for 3,222 yards and 27 touchdowns while having Colorado on the verge of a Big 12 Championship and a possible spot in the College Football Playoff. And come next year many Raiders fans would love to see him in silver and black, which is becoming more and more of a possibility with each week.

Are the Raiders the best landing spot for Shedeur Sanders?

What is most important for any quarterback coming into the NFL is where they land as no one can succeed without having the right pieces in place around them. And ESPN’s Mel Kiper believes the Raiders are an ideal spot for Shedeur Sanders.

Kiper noted that Sanders already has a relationship with Raiders part-owner Tom Brady and while improvements on offense could still be made, the team has taken steps to improve their offensive line in the last couple years, not to mention tight end Brock Bowers is already establishing himself as a star in the league.
