The Las Vegas Raiders undoubtedly have some areas to fix within their roster, but most important is their quarterback position. A team just can not win without excellent production from under center, and one way the Raiders can fix that issue is through the 2025 NFL Draft, which features a number of promising prospects, including Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
Of course Sanders is the son of one of the greatest football players ever, and his current coach at Colorado, Deion Sanders. But he has made a name for himself with his excellent play throughout his college career both at Jackson State and now with the Buffaloes.
Sanders is expected to be one of the top prospects in this draft, and in an appearance on ESPN’s Unsportsmanlike Radio, analyst Mel Kiper Jr. said that he feels the Raiders would make the most sense for him to go to:

As Kiper noted, Sanders already has a bit of a relationship with Raiders part-owner Tom Brady, so that would certainly be great, and his father has previously spoken about loving the idea of Shedeur joining the silver and black. The Raiders obviously have the need but would need to put the proper infrastructure around him so he could succeed.
Sanders is enjoying an excellent season at Colorado so far, completing 73.3% of his passes for 2,591 yards and 21 touchdowns while carrying the Buffaloes to a 6-2 record, already surpassing their win total from a year ago. The idea of a Shedeur Sanders-Brock Bowers combination leading the Raiders offense is dream-worthy.
There are still so many moving parts as the draft order is far from being set, and there are multiple other promising quarterback prospects in this draft class as well, including Miami’s Cam Ward and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe. Nonetheless, the Raiders must find their franchise quarterback, and Shedeur Sanders could very well turn out to be that guy.
Raiders hire Norv Turner as assistant coach following staff firings
The Raiders are already in the midst of trying to fix their struggling offense this season with the firing of offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, as well as QB coach Rich Scangarello and offensive line coach James Cregg.
Now, in the midst of that, the team is bringing in another big name to help out as an assistant in former long-time assistant and head coach Norv Turner, who is coming out of retirement to join the staff. Turner’s son Scott is already on the Raiders staff and could be taking over playcalling duties, which is likely a big reason why Turner has chosen to come on board.
