The AFC West has been the most active division in all of football this offseason, and the Las Vegas Raiders are making sure they aren’t falling behind their rivals. After signing pass-rusher Chandler Jones, the Raiders made another massive move in trading for star wide receiver Davante Adams.

Over the past few seasons, Adams has been arguably the best receiver in the NFL despite never having another consistent pass catcher on the other side of him. He and Aaron Rodgers formed an elite duo, and now he will have the chance to do so with a familiar face in quarterback Derek Carr as the two were college teammates.

The move has the Raiders faithful extremely excited for what is to come in the 2022 season, and that includes their own legends. Hall of Famer Tim Brown took to Twitter to show his excitement at the Raiders’ latest big move:

Brown is the greatest receiver in the history of the Raiders franchise, leading the team in career receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. Now Adams has the opportunity to be the next great receiver to don the silver and black as the team now has the makings of a very explosive offense.

The duo of Adams and Hunter Renfrow is immediately one of the NFL’s best, and when combined with tight end Darren Waller, Carr will have no shortage of great options to throw to. Not to mention the team still has a more than reliable run game led by Josh Jacobs.

Over the past two decades, the Raiders have struggled mightily, with last year’s playoff appearance being only their second since 2002. With the big moves made by the Broncos and Chargers and the Chiefs remaining one of the league’s top teams, it seemed as if the Raiders were in danger of falling behind and last season’s run being a fluke.

But now, with Josh McDaniels taking over as head coach, and the big moves they have made this offseason, the Raiders will be a force to be reckoned with and even have the legends like Brown excited for what is to come.
