Las Vegas Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams has been everything the franchise could’ve hoped for and more when they traded for him this offseason. Adams and running back Josh Jacobs have carried the Raiders’ offense amidst injuries to other skill players and the growing pains of their offensive line.

The only black mark on Adams so far has been the incident that occurred following the Raiders’ Monday night loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. A frustrated Adams shoved a photographer to the ground who got in his way as he was leaving the field, leading to some legal issues.

Following the Raiders’ Week 7 victory over the Houston Texans, Adams was in a much better mood when leaving the field and, as such, making sure the road to the tunnel was clear before running into the locker room, via Field Yates of ESPN:

It is good to see Adams being able to make a little light on the current situation he faces. Of course, it is easy to do so when you’re coming off a dominant win like the Raiders were, but there is still potential fallout to be had from that incident.

Adams was charged with misdemeanor assault because of the shove, with the citation on saying that the Raiders receiver committed an “intentional, overt act” that inflicted “bodily injury.” It also listed a minor concussion, headache, and whiplash as potential injuries suffered by the photographer.

The NFL could still choose to discipline Adams, but a decision on that isn’t expected until after the legal situation itself comes to a conclusion. Anytime things become a legal criminal matter, the league waits until that is resolved to administer any possible discipline, so that may not come for some time.

In the meantime, Adams continues to perform at a high level, being the Raiders’ top receiver and doing everything he can to help the team turn around this rough start and, hopefully, make a playoff push in the coming weeks.
