After being released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this week, veteran quarterback Josh Freeman is officially a free agent and was immediately linked with the Oakland Raiders.
Shortly after hitting the open market, the Raiders reportedly expressed interest in signing the 25-year-old quarterback. With ties to offensive coordinator Greg Olson and a need for a solid backup in Oakland, Freeman appears to be in the team’s crosshairs.
Along with the team potentially targeting Freeman, there seems to be mutual interest with the young quarterback texting someone at Bay Area based radio show, 97.5 The Game during one of their broadcasts on Oct. 3:
We just recieved this text from Josh Freeman: “Raider Nation is great. I’ve worked with Greg Olson & he is a great coordinator.”
