The American Century Championship is one of the biggest celebrity golf tournaments, having been around since 1990. Las Vegas Raiders legend Tim Brown has been participating in the tournament for more than 20 years, and in this year’s edition, the Hall of Famer had one of his biggest accomplishments.
On the par-3 12th hole, Brown sunk a hole-in-one from 143 yards out, netting the former Raiders not only the satisfaction of the ace but also a brand new boat, via The Golf Channel:

It was a truly awesome moment for Brown who admitted he didn’t hit the ball the way that he wanted to, but it ultimately worked out for the best, via Ryan Young of Yahoo Sports:
“I didn’t hit it the way I wanted to,” Brown said. “I was trying to hit it up to the right and I pulled it a little bit. I was starting to complain and noticed the ball was going at the hole. Of course I didn’t think it was going to go in. But then the crowd up there went crazy, and I didn’t even know about the boat.”
Brown would continue to describe the shot, feeling it was going to be short before having a delayed reaction as he and his playing partners, Jerome Bettis and fellow Raiders legend Marcus Allen, couldn’t actually see the ball go in the hole:
“I thought it was going to be short. All of a sudden you saw the people up there go nuts, and so it was sort of delayed reaction for us because we couldn’t see the ball go in the hole,” Brown said. “But it’s quite the moment. It’s one of those things you dream about, but everything is going to happen. So it was great.”
Brown certainly enjoyed the accomplishment, as well as the prize boat that came along with sinking the hole-in-one. The Raiders legend finished a respectable 16th in the tournament with 46 points. Former tennis player Mardy Fish took home the championship with 83 total points, holding off NHL star Joe Pavelski who finished second with 79 points.
Richard Seymour finalizing deal to join Tom Brady as Raiders part-owner
The ongoing quest of Tom Brady to become part-owner of the Raiders finally looks as if it will soon be coming to an end with some help from his former teammate and former Raiders player Richard Seymour.
The longtime defensive lineman and three-time Super Bowl Champion with Brady and the New England Patriots is reportedly finalizing a deal to join Brady as a minority owner. Together, the two would reportedly own 10.4% of the Raiders, and this move is expected to resolve many of the owners’ issues with Brady’s initial bid.
