It came as quite a big surprise when the New England Patriots released talented young cornerback Jack Jones in the middle of just his second season in the NFL. But the Raiders jumped on the opportunity to bring him in with head coach Antonio Pierce’s previous relationship with Jones, making it a no-brainer.

Jones quickly became one of the Raiders’ top cornerbacks, finishing the year with a pair of interceptions, both of which were returned for touchdowns, to go along with four passes defensed. But Jones’ time with the Patriots did not end on the best of terms and there is still no love lost, at least between Jones and New England fans.

Jones took to social media recently, responding to people commenting that former Patriots quarterback Mac Jones looks happier now as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jones noted that the reason why is because he no longer has to deal with Patriots fans:

And Jones didn’t back down after that initial message either, laughing at the fans who didn’t care for what he said while adding that fans can’t do what he or Mac Jones does:

The relationship between fans and players can sometimes be contentious. There are often times when fans take things too far with what they say to players, especially with social media being so prevalent and people being able to hide behind a computer and not face these players face-to-face after being disrespectful.

Jones clearly had some not-so-great moments with Patriots fans that have stuck with him, and he has no issue calling them out. While some may want players to not respond to things like this, it is also what makes Jack Jones himself. These are the things that motivate him on the field as well and drive him to greatness when the Raiders need him to deliver on the field.

Raiders coach Antonio Pierce ‘likes’ Alabama CB Terrion Arnold

Even with Jack Jones looking like a keeper for the Raiders, cornerback could still be a position the team looks to add to in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. One potential player the team could have eyes on is Alabama CB Terrion Arnold, who apparently already has a fan in Raiders coach Antonio Pierce.

Pierce was seen talking to Arnold following an impressive showing at Alabama’s Pro Day. The former Crimson Tide star revealed that at the NFL Combine, Pierce told him that he likes him already. Whether or not that leads to Arnold in the silver and black remains to be seen.
