After a ton of firings and hirings of head coaches around the NFL over the past few weeks, the Las Vegas Raiders and Arizona Cardinals are the last two teams standing without a new leader on the sideline.
Although plenty of notable candidates for the Raiders have taken jobs elsewhere, one of the team’s top targets remains available for a head coaching position, with Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak there for the taking if he’s willing to take on the job in Las Vegas.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Raiders plan to interview Kubiak over the weekend, and all signs point to the storied franchise offering him the job.

As long as Kubiak doesn’t come with a list of ridiculous demands, the Raiders can’t go wrong, at least initially, in hiring the talented offensive coordinator as the team’s next head coach.
Klint Kubiak is This Year’s Ben Johnson for the Raiders
Obviously, it’s not a great look for the Raiders, given the revolving door at head coach over the past few years, but Kubiak might provide exactly what the team needs moving forward. He’s this year’s Ben Johnson, whom the Raiders wanted before settling on Pete Carroll last year, and went on to make an inspired run in the NFL playoffs before losing to the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round.
If there’s anyone still available who can help turn things around for the Raiders, especially from an offensive and quarterback perspective, it’s Kubiak, who has done wonders for the Seahawks with veteran gunslinger Sam Darnold leading the way.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out over the weekend and whether Kubiak ends up being the team’s next head coach, sparking what could be a crucial NFL offseason for the Raiders.
