The Las Vegas Raiders have begun filling out the coaching staff around new head coach Klint Kubiak. The franchise announced Andrew Janocko as the new offensive coordinator, Rob Leonard as defensive coordinator and Joe DeCamillis as special teams coordinator. Additionally, Mike McCoy was named the assistant head coach to Kubiak.

Janocko comes over with Kubiak from the Seattle Seahawks as he was their quarterback’s coach last season. He has been an NFL assistant for 12 years having also spent time with the New Orleans Saints, Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings as quarterback’s coach. This is his first time serving as an offensive coordinator, though Kubiak has already said that he will be calling plays for the Raiders.

Leonard is an internal promotion as he served as the running game coordinator and defensive line coach last year and has been with the Raiders for the last four seasons. He has played a role in helping star Maxx Crosby solidifying himself as one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL and prior to joining the Raiders in 2023 spent time with the Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins and New York Giants.

DeCamillis is a long-time special teams coach who has spent time with the Denver Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars, Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams, amongst other stops. He is a two-time Super Bowl champion having won one with the Broncos in 2016 and most recently with the Rams in 2022. He has spent the last two years with the University of South Carolina as their special teams coordinator and associate head coach.

McCoy is most well known for serving as the head coach of the then-San Diego Chargers from 2013-16. He has spent time with the Broncos, Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers throughout his 23-year coaching career and most recently was on the Tennessee Titans staff as a senior offensive assistant before being promoted to interim head coach, helping top overall pick Cam Ward make great strides in the latter half of the season.

Just as important as finding the right head coach is building the right staff around him and Kubiak is bringing in a staff full of experience, but also innovation that will all hopefully come together and help lift this Raiders franchise back amongst the NFL’s elite teams.

Klint Kubiak wants Maxx Crosby to remain with the Raiders

The biggest question moving forward for the Raiders remains the future of star defensive end Maxx Crosby and Klint Kubiak made it clear that he wants Crosby to remain with the franchise amidst trade rumors surrounding him this offseason.
