Shedeur Sanders is among the top two quarterback prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. The University of Colorado star, along with Miami’s Cam Ward, are expected to be high selections and potentially the first two picks overall. Of course Sanders has also long been linked to the Las Vegas Raiders as well.

Much of the connection has to do with Sanders’s relationship with Raiders minority owner Tom Brady, the best quarterback of all time. Sanders has worked out with Brady and picked his brain for advice, and he recently spoke on the most important things he learned.

During the recent NFL Scouting Combine, Sanders was interviewed on the NFL Network and said that the advice he received from Brady earlier in his college career is really only registering to him now that he’s on the brink of the NFL, via Zach Bachar of Bleacher Report:

“I would say when we spoke, the most in-depth I’ll say was early on in my college career,” Sanders said. “So a lot of things that he would speak on wouldn’t register to me until like now. So, now my plan for the next couple of weeks and next couple of months is go back and re-watch all the footage that we talked about. And now register more and how you’re saying, ‘Turn your hips when you’re throwing, create torque.’ And all that stuff.”

That Sanders locked in on those little things that Brady told him bodes well for his future prospects as a potential franchise quarterback in the NFL. Sanders actually has some similarities to Brady in terms of his style, relying on timing, reads and accuracy more than pure arm strength or athleticism to be successful.

With the Raiders having traded for Geno Smith it would seem less likely that they would target Sanders with their first-round draft pick. It also is beginning to seem more unlikely that Sanders will even still be on the board when the Raiders get on the clock with the sixth overall pick.

Wherever he ultimately lands with the Raiders or not however, the advice he has received from Brady will unduobtedly serve him well on his NFL journey.

Raiders still eyeing a quarterback in 2025 NFL Draft?

There is little doubt that Geno Smith will be the Raiders’ starting quarterback in 2025 after the team traded a third-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks to acquire him. But apparently,y the team hasn’t completely ruled out the idea of taking a quarterback in the NFL Draft.

A recent report noted that the Raiders may still consider taking a quarterback, even in the first round of the draft. The team taking a shot on a young quarterback to develop behind Smith makes sense, but using their first-rounder to do so may be a bit much with there being other holes on the roster.
