The NFL has announced that the Las Vegas Raiders will be the third game of a triple header in Week 16 of the 2020 NFL season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will kick things off with a road trip to take on the Detroit Lions. This showdown will be followed up by an NFC West showdown between the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals.

Meanwhile, the Raiders will close out the Saturday by hosting the Miami Dolphins in the finale at 5:15 p.m. PT. With each matchup featuring some implications, this could be a crucial game for both teams to secure a Wild Card bid.

The NFL has become accustomed to taking advantage of Saturdays and Sundays toward the end of the season. It is safe to say that this year has called for more adjustments than they originally intended.

The league knew full well coming into the 2020 NFL season that the schedule would be relatively fluid due to the circumstances of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It is safe to say that the NFL has already made more changes than initially planned due to the outbreaks within specific teams.

Unlike the coronavirus rescheduling, this had already been part of the plan for the NFL. The slate of games will give fans a healthy dose of football over the Christmas weekend.

For now, the Raiders are focused on getting back on track following an embarrassing 43-6 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12. Despite their recent struggles, this team is still in a position to make a run at the postseason heading into the final stretch of the year.

Of course, taking on a team of Miami’s caliber will certainly be no easy task. Las Vegas is going to have their work cut out trying to gift themselves with another Christmas present the following day.
