The Oakland Raiders announced that they have signed defensive tackle Corey Liuget and linebacker Bryson Allen-Williams, waived long snapper Andrew DePaola and placed running back Doug Martin on IR.
It was reported on Sunday morning that the Raiders were planning to release Martin, so that decision is now understandable he is dealing with an undisclosed injury. Martin isn’t officially released yet, but with him being placed on IR, he is no longer taking up a roster spot.
Martin appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders last year, starting nine of them. He totaled 172 carries for 723 yards, good for 4.2 yards per carry while scoring four touchdowns and also added 18 receptions for 116 yards.
Liuget spent his first seven NFL seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers after being drafted in the first round in 2011 out of Illinois. In 108 career games, he has 275 total tackles, 59 tackles for loss and 24 sacks.
The 29-year-old missed 14 of 32 games the last two seasons due to PED suspension and torn quad but is currently healthy.
Allen-Williams joins the team as an undrafted free agent out of South Carolina. In 43 career college games, he had 176 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, four interceptions, two passes defensed, one forced fumble and three fumble recoveries.
DePaola joined the Raiders in 2018 but was placed on IR after just one game due to a knee injury that cost him the rest of his season.
