The Oakland Raiders announced that they have officially placed right tackle Trent Brown on injured reserve and signed linebacker Ukeme Eligwe.

Brown has missed the last two games after suffering a pectoral injury in Week 13 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The hope was that he would be able to return for the final two games of the season, but head coach Jon Gruden announced on Wednesday that his injury has not improved so his season will be coming to an end.

In his first season with the Raiders after signing a record-breaking contract in the offseason, Brown was as good as advertised, allowing just one sack. He was recently named to his first career Pro Bowl along with center Rodney Hudson.

Eligwe was originally a fifth-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017 out of Georgia Southern. He also spent some time at Florida State in his college career. In 24 games career NFL games (one start), Eligwe has 10 tackles (seven solo), one sack and one pass defensed.

He has spent most of this season as a member of the Tennesee Titans, although he most recently was on the New York Jets’ practice squad.

The linebacker position has seemingly been a revolving door for the Raiders all season long, so the hope is that Eligwe will bring some depth at that position to finish out the year.
