Raiders News: Wide Receiver Jordan Lasley Claimed Off Waivers From Ravens

The Oakland Raiders announced on Thursday that they have claimed wide receiver Jordan Lasley off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens. As a corresponding move, wide receiver Brian Burt was waived.

Lasley was a fifth-round pick in 2018 out of UCLA, although he did not play a single snap for the Ravens in his rookie season. He got in a fight at Training Camp this past week and wound up throwing a ball into a pond, which led to the Ravens waiving him.

In his career at UCLA though, Lasley had a lot of success. He caught 113 passes for 1,901 yards and 14 touchdowns in 23 games across three seasons. His junior season was by far his best, catching 69 passes for 1,264 yards and nine touchdowns in just nine games.

The Raiders wide receiver room has undergone a complete overhaul this offseason, which the big addition being the trade for Antonio Brown. They also signed veterans Tyrell Williams, J.J. Nelson and Ryan Grant and drafted Hunter Renfrow out of Clemson.

Lasley certainly has the talent to be an NFL wide receiver, so if he can get past the maturity issues then it would not be surprising to carve out a role for himself in Oakland. With so much wide receiving depth already on the roster, giving Lasley a chance to show what he can do during Training Camp and the preseason is a low-risk, high-reward type of move.
