Raiders News: Rookie LB Sio Moore Questionable For Week 1

The Oakland Raiders are dealing with numerous injury problems ob both sides of the football with rookie linebacker Sio Moore being the latest player shrouded in uncertainty heading into Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts.

According to Vic Tafur of The San Francisco Chronicle, Moore is listed as questionable for Week 1:

Moore made an impression during the preseason and throughout training camp making him a popular pick as the future of the linebacker position in Oakland. Although Moore may have a bright future with the Raiders, the team may be forced to start the season with veteran Kaluka Maiava starting at linebacker.

The Raiders acquired Moore out of UConn 66th overall in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. The team appears to be high on Moore as they rebuild the defense around the UConn product and fellow rookie D.J. Hayden.

Despite the fact the Raiders aren’t getting much consideration as a force to be reckoned with in the AFC this season, this team is fairly talented on the defensive side of the football. Moore joins a talented group with Hayden, Charles Woodson, Tracy Porter, Mike Jenkins, Tyvon Branch, Lamarr Houston, Pat Sims and Nick Roach.
