General Manager Reggie McKenzie announced today that the Oakland Raiders have put tight end David Ausberry on injured reserve according to Raiders.com.

The three-year veteran from USC suffered a shoulder injury in the team’s second preseason game and was inactive for the first two regular season games against the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars. In his first two seasons, Ausberry caught nine passes for 106 yards.

With Ausberry now on the injured reserve, the team also announced that they have signed rookie offensive guard Lamar Mady from the practice squad. The undrafted rookie from Youngstown State was waived at the end of training camp by the Raiders before signing to the practice squad a couple days later on September 2.

The 6-2, 315 pound offensive guard started 22 games for Youngstown State and helped the offense average a school-record 36.2 points per game and 458.6 per game in his junior year. He is expected to give the Raiders some depth along the offensive line.

With the Raiders facing the Denver Broncos tonight, left guard Lucas Nix is questionable with an ankle injury for tonight’s game. If he is unable to play, Andre Gurode will start in his place with Antoine McClain as the backup.
