This season has not ended like the Las Vegas Raiders hoped. The team entered their bye week at just 2-7, and hopes of a run to the postseason are all but gone. But for star defensive end Maxx Crosby, that just means a change in mindset to another goal.
Crosby has made it very clear that he wants to remain with the Raiders, and his ultimate goal is to win and eventually bring a Super Bowl back to the franchise. But in the absence of that this season, Crosby just wants to play the joker role and spoil other team’s chances.
Crosby recently appeared on Sirius XM NFL Radio with Peter King and Jim Gray and said that he now wants to ruin the season of other teams and expects the rest of the Raiders to follow suit:
“If we’re not going to be the king of the castle right now, might as well go and ruin everyone’s season.” 🔥🃏@Raiders @CrosbyMaxx with @peter_king & @JimGrayOfficial on this week’s “Let’s Go!”

This is an ideal mindset for the Raiders to take and should definitely give the team a bit more motivation if they embrace it, as Crosby is suggesting. That was certainly the idea when the Raiders defeated the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day last year, though coincidentally, it had the opposite effect as the Chiefs still haven’t lost a game since then.
One thing that is certain is that the Raiders will have the opportunity to hurt some teams’ hopes in both the AFC and NFC. Not only do the Raiders still have games against each of their division rivals in the Chiefs, Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers, all of whom have playoff hopes, but they also will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons, who are battling for the NFC South crown.
Crosby says that he likes being in this role, and if the Raiders do embrace it, there will be many chances for them to do exactly what he is talking about and run some team’s run to the playoffs.
Maxx Crosby Feels ‘More is Required’ of Himself and Raiders
Maxx Crosby has continued to play extremely well despite the Raiders’ poor record and even moved into third on the franchise’s all-time sacks list recently. But the defensive star isn’t satisfied, especially as the team continues to struggle.
When the team recognized Crosby’s accomplishment on social media, he responded by saying ‘more is required,’ implying that both he and the Raiders must do more to achieve their ultimate goals eventually.
