The Las Vegas Raiders will be counting on their youth to help lift them up during the 2023 season.

While the Raiders have veteran players like Maxx Crosby manning the fort, a rookie like Tyree Wilson will need to help him out early on in his career. Wilson was Las Vegas’ first pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and the team is incredibly high on the pass rusher.

For Wilson, he couldn’t have landed a better mentor to learn from than Crosby and the Pro Bowl defensive end is taking his new responsibility in stride.

“It’s a great feeling. My dad will send me clips of guys talking at the combine and stuff like that. That’s really what it’s all about. I’ve always dreamed to be in the position I am right now. I’m not even close to where I want to be, but I know I’m going in the right direction. So having a guy like Tyree [Wilson] in the building and just being able to help him any way I can, that’s something I didn’t have when I was a rookie. We didn’t have a lot of vets or anything like that, especially in the D-line room, we had a different group, but I’ve always wanted to have a guy like Von Miller. When I was a rookie, I reached out to Von, I reached out to all the top guys and tried to pick their brains. Especially as a rookie, that’s what I want to be, a great veteran for all the young guys and just have them come to me if they need anything.”

Crosby may not be the most physically gifted DE in the league, but he more than makes up for it with his tenacity and determination. Wilson has all the tools to be successful at the professional level, and the organization is banking on him to reach his potential.

Last season, Crosby was the lone threat rushing the quarterback, so if Wilson is able to play to his strengths, then it should open everything up for the rest of the defense.

Jalen Ramsey believes Tyree Wilson learning from Maxx Crosby is scary

Despite having a young and inexperienced defensive line, the Raiders have to be feeling good about what they have in Crosby and Wilson. There’s major gamewrecking potential between the two of them which is why Jalen Ramsey believes that Wilson learning from Crosby is a scary thought.
