Darren McFadden is hurt again. The veteran running back has been banged up a bit over the past week or so, but it is not anything serious ailing the starting running back.

McFadden is dealing with a shoulder injury, but head coach Dennis Allen says the injury should not keep McFadden from playing in the Raiders third preseason game this Friday against the Chicago Bears.

McFadden is without a doubt the Raiders best offensive weapon, but as it is well known, he has been unable to stay healthy for an extended period of time throughout his career. The most games McFadden has played in a season is 13 and he has played in only 19 games the past two seasons combined.

With the Raiders losing starting left tackle Jared Veldheer for possibly the season, the job will be even tougher for McFadden to regain his status as one of the best running backs in the NFL that he held in 2010 after rushing for 1,157 yards and 7 touchdowns.

With McFadden in a contract year, there is no doubt he and the Raiders are hoping this is just something minor. But when you have a history like he does, you can never be sure.
