Coming into this season, expectations for the Raiders were not very high. With an unproven quarterback behind a shaky offensive line, things were not expected to go well for the Raiders and now things have gone from bad to worse.

After undergoing a second MRI, Raiders Head Coach Dennis Allen announced today that Left Tackle Jared Veldheer has torn his triceps and will have surgery.

Veldheer will be put on the injured reserve list for the Raiders in what is a huge blow for the team. Veldheer was one of the few players on the Raiders that fans did not have to worry about. Veldheer has been a top notch left tackle and his ability to protect the blindside of expected starter Matt Flynn was very important, especially because Flynn has never been a full-time starter in the NFL.

Veteran Alex Barron is expected to fill in for Veldheer and he is a former starter in the league as well, but this will severely change things for the Raiders.
