The Oakland Raiders put an emphasis on bringing in high-character players when it came to the 2019 NFL Draft and no prospect better fit that mold than Josh Jacobs after overcoming early hardships to fulfill his dream of going pro.
Although Jacobs had established himself as one of the most promising running backs in his class, his humble beginnings are what added further intrigue throughout the draft process. It was even revealed that he was living out of his father’s Suburban at one point before going on to star at Alabama.
Jacobs’ backstory sparked plenty of interest from those that want to know more about his journey to the NFL. It appears he could be ready to oblige in the near future.
The rookie says he has already started to receive offers about potentially making a biopic about his life,via his personal Twitter:

It is encouraging to see that Jacobs is focused on keeping his journey going with a successful rookie campaign. Not only will it justify all the hype surrounding his first-round selection, but it will also make for another interesting component to this supposed biopic.
Regardless, it is safe to say that he would garner plenty of support from those seeking the more intimate details of his upbringing and the obstacles he had to overcome to get to this point. His post indicates that he may be more than willing to do so as long as the right people are involved.
While he will eventually get around to sharing his life story via the wide array of mediums that exist in today’s world, Jacobs is adamant about finding his footing in the NFL first. Running backs are seldom taken in the first round and when they are, the expectations for them to make an immediate impact are as high as ever.
Fortunately, the 21-year-old seems to be well aware of his team’s need for him to emerge as a viable weapon out of the backfield in 2019. Although the Raiders made sure to shore up some depth by bringing back Doug Martin, it is safe to say that head coach Jon Gruden would ideally like for Jacobs to serve as the workhorse back moving forward.
