One reason the Las Vegas Raiders must find their franchise quarterback is that they are in the division with the best quarterback of this generation, Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes. After winning his third Super Bowl in four years, some are even beginning to wonder where he stands among the greatest quarterbacks of all time, and Raiders cornerback Jack Jones is one of them.

Of course, when talking about the GOAT quarterback, the conversation begins with former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers star Tom Brady, who will soon be a minority owner of the Raiders. As a current member of the Raiders and former member of the Patriots, one would think Jones might have a little bias toward Brady, but it is actually the opposite.

Jones was recently on Instagram Live, and while he acknowledges hating that Mahomes plays for the rival Chiefs, the Raiders cornerback explained why he feels Mahomes is the greatest quarterback of all-time via Jakso James of Essentially Sports:

“I hate the fact he plays for that team. But if we’re calling a spade a spade, Patrick Mahomes is the greatest quarterback to ever play the game,” he confessed.

When viewers argued with that statement, bringing up Brady, Jones delved into what, in his eyes, makes a quarterback truly exceptional. He outlined three cardinal virtues: prowess in the running game, precision in passing, and the art of facilitation. In his analysis, Lamar Jackson reigns supreme in agility, while Tom Brady’s quicksilver passing is unparalleled. He added, “The thing that Lamar Jackson doesn’t have is what Tom Brady has,” and vice-versa. But Patrick Mahomes is a class apart.

“When you go to Mahomes, this man has got the ability to run like Jackson, and then he passes the ball so efficiently. And his facilitating? I can’t make it up.” He combines Jackson’s agility and Brady’s surgical precision, coupled with an uncanny ability to orchestrate the game’s rhythm.

When it comes to pure talent and being able to do everything that a quarterback needs to, it is hard to argue with Jones’ assessment. Mahomes has the arm strength to make every throw, precision accuracy, and the ability to use his legs to extend plays or just take off running. There is nothing he can’t do.

Where Brady has the advantage is with his overall accomplishments, especially in terms of winning his seven Super Bowl Championships and five Super Bowl MVPs. Brady always delivered on the biggest stage and no one can ever take that away from him.

But Mahomes is on his way to making this a very real conversation and Jones’ respect for him likely made it that much sweeter when he was able to intercept the Chiefs star and return it for a touchdown when the Raiders took down Kansas City late in the season.

Raiders’ Jack Jones bashes Patriots fans on social media

Jack Jones has been making waves on social media recently as this was just his latest talking point. On X (formerly Twitter), Jones recently made some headlines by taking shots at the fans of his former team, the Patriots.

Jones made a post saying that former Patriots quarterback Mac Jones looks happier now because he doesn’t have to deal with New England fans and followed that up by calling out the fan base for bashing players at making mistakes on things fans aren’t capable of doing.
