The Oakland Raiders currently find themselves third in the AFC West after dropping their last three games of the 2017 NFL season. The Raiders are a team that is looking for answers on both sides of the field and will quickly need to find them before their Super Bowl aspirations come to an end.
Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens was particularly challenging as Oakland was without starting quarterback Derek Carr. Carr suffered a back injury against the Denver Broncos in Week 4 and was initially expected to miss two to six weeks.
However, according to Ron Kroichick of San Francisco Chronicle, head coach Jack Del Rio says Carr is all systems go for Week 6:
He’s ready to play,” Del Rio said of Carr. “I think it was smart to give him last week (off), and he’s good to go now. He’s got the green light.”
This was to be expected given that reports earlier in the week stated Carr would be ready in Week 6. Carr under center should breathe life back into the offense even with Amari Cooper and Marshawn Lynch struggling to make plays on the field.
The Los Angeles Chargers have underwhelmed during the 2017 NFL campaign, putting the Raiders in a good spot to bounce back. With Carr leading the way, it should only be a matter of time before the silver and black resemble themselves again.
