Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III was involved in a serious car accident in Las Vegas at around 3:40 am on Tuesday morning.
The 22-year old wideout, who currently leads the Raiders in receiving yards and is tied for the team lead in touchdowns, was involved in the wreck in the central Las Vegas Valley area. Pictures show at least two cars totaled due to the collision.
According to TMZ Sports, what caused the accident, as well as Ruggs’ condition are currently unknown:
No word on if cops believe alcohol or drugs played a factor in the accident. It’s still unclear what Ruggs’ condition is. There is a local report that says there was at least one fatality in the crash.
There has yet to be any response to the news from both Ruggs’ camp or the Raiders themselves and details remain scarce on the incident overall.
Ruggs has enjoyed a much improved second season with the franchise, already eclipsing his receiving yards from his rookie season with a team-high 469, and matching his touchdown total from a year ago with two. His 19.5 yards per reception also ranks second in the NFL behind Cincinnati Bengals rookie Ja’Marr Chase which shows Ruggs’ value as a deep threat.
We will have more on this story as details come out.
