After losing to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5 of the 2017 NFL season, the Oakland Raiders have been left searching for answers on both sides of the ball. The Raiders gave up 30 points to a struggling Ravens offense and there are now concerns about the silver and black’s chances of making the playoffs.
EJ Manuel lined up under center for Oakland against Baltimore and performed well given the circumstances. However, the rest of the team’s playmakers outside of Michael Crabtree were unable to get much going against a stout Ravens secondary that constantly pressured the Raiders’ receivers.
Despite the doom and gloom surrounding the franchise, there is good news on the horizon because according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Derek Carr is expected to play in Week 6:
Raiders anticipating that QB Derek Carr will be able to return Sunday vs. Chargers.

This is obviously good news for the Raiders and its offense as Carr is what makes them so dangerous. He was originally projected to miss two to six weeks with his back injury, but it was quickly noted that other quarterbacks were able to return after missing only a week.
At 2-3, the Raiders already have plenty of ground to make up in a division that also features the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos. Expect Carr and the silver and black to turn things around against the Los Angeles Chargers in their Week 6 tilt.
