Las Vegas Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams is someone who is never afraid to speak his mind or share how he’s feeling, and that has stirred up a bit of drama in recent weeks. Adams’ comments about not seeing eye-to-eye with the front office on certain decisions made this offseason have led some to wonder whether he’s truly happy.
For his part, Adams has spoken multiple times since those comments became public, ensuring everyone that he wants to be a Raider and has a lot of love both for Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler. And the star receiver has again looked to clear up any idea that there are potential issues between he and the Raiders.
In a recent interview with Paul Gutierrez of ESPN, Adams re-iterated that he is excited to be a member of the Raiders and that he loves and values everyone within the organization:
“But at the end of the day, I’m a Raider and I’m excited to be here. I love my head coach, and I love the general manager here and everybody, I mean, from the top to the bottom … when I say that these are some good men in this place, that I really value the relationship that I have with them, I mean that. So that’s about all that needs to be said.”
Adams was everything the Raiders could have hoped he would be on the field last season, turning in another All-Pro season and staking his claim at being the best player at his position in the NFL. It is known that the Raiders were in contact with Adams regarding certain roster decisions, but in the end, the front office is going to do what they feel is best for the team overall.
There is no player who is going to be happy with every single choice made by the front office; Adams just happened to voice this publicly. But it doesn’t mean that he is looking to go elsewhere or is unsatisfied with where the Raiders are going right now and in the future.
Adams is simply a player who wants to compete at the highest level and will give maximum effort in order to help his team win every single week. There should be no concerns about Davante Adams and his mindset moving forward, as he has made it clear time and again that he is happy being a member of the Raiders.
