Las Vegas Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams turned some heads with certain comments made in a recent interview published. While Adams made it clear that he will look at things positively and remain optimistic, he was open about the fact that he didn’t really agree with the direction the Raiders took this offseason.

Obviously, the Raiders chose to move on from quarterback Derek Carr, one of Adams’ closest friends and signed Jimmy Garoppolo to take over under center. Other moves were made as well such as signing receiver Jakobi Meyers and trading away tight end Darren Waller, and in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL, it is unclear where the Raiders stand.

Adams voicing his concerns publicly about not agreeing with certain moves made some wonder if he was suddenly unhappy with the Raiders, but he has already looked to shoot that down. Adams took to Instagram to post a picture with Raiders GM Dave Ziegler, calling him ‘The Man’ via Ian Rapaport of NFL Network:

Just because Adams doesn’t agree with some moves doesn’t mean he is at odds with the Raiders front office. Perhaps he could have chosen his words a bit differently, but no one can fault him for being honest, and his relationship with the Raiders remains strong.

Now at 30 years of age, Adams wants to compete for a Super Bowl, and he wants to do so in Las Vegas with this franchise. The front office believes they are making moves that will push the Raiders towards that goal and even though Adams isn’t sure if that has been the case, he is going to put in the work to get the best out of this.

It is very possible that he could be wrong about these moves and the Raiders could turn a corner this season. The team was in a lot of close games last season and with just a few tweaks could see their fortunes turn around next year. But one thing that’s for sure is that Adams and the Raiders remain on the same page.

Raiders’ Davante Adams believes All-Pro season proved he didn’t need Aaron Rodgers

One thing that Davante Adams definitely doesn’t have to clarify was his feelings on his All-Pro season last year and how good it felt to silence some doubters. There were some who thought that Adams’ success was linked mainly to his partnership with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but Adams proved them all wrong last year.

Adams admitted the joy he felt at being named a First Team All-Pro last season because it proved that a quarterback didn’t make him, but rather he is great wherever he is.
