The Las Vegas Raiders were a popular sleeper pick coming into the season after their big moves to bring in Davante Adams and Chandler Jones. If there was one big concern, however, it had to do with the Raiders’ offensive line they had a pretty inexperienced group that hadn’t played together.

After some issues early on, however, the Raiders’ offensive line has come together and become one of the strengths of this team. Running back Josh Jacobs leads the league in rushing, which obviously would not be possible without the line doing its part, and the Raiders rank sixth in the NFL in sacks allowed.

In fact, the Raiders have not allowed a sack in each of the last two contests, and if they do so again on Sunday against the New England Patriots, they will tie a franchise record, via Josh Dubow of the Associated Press:

Regardless of the skill position talent, a bad offensive line can completely destroy an offense. If you can’t create holes for your running back or give the quarterback time to operate, nothing else matters. Thankfully this Raiders line has come together and done their job at a high level. But extending that streak of sackless games won’t be easy against a Patriots defense that ranks third in the NFL in sacks

Left tackle Kolton Miller is the leader, but the Raiders have been solid all-around, with Dylan Parham, Andre James, Alex Bars, and Jermaine Eluemunor rounding out the group. Despite a less-than-stellar year last season, the group has not been the biggest issue hurting the team this year when many believed it would be.

Instead, it has been injuries and untimely penalties that have destroyed the Raiders at the most inopportune times, as the team has blown multiple leads. While there are still some improvements and upgrades that could be made in the offseason, it now looks as if the Raiders at least have a foundation to build upon up front.
