The Las Vegas Raiders are entering a new era of the franchise with a new braintrust in charge. The greatest quarterback of all time, Tom Brady, is officially a minority owner of the Raiders, and he has his team in the building, with John Spytek joining as general manager and Pete Carroll as the team’s new head coach.

Carroll, of course, is well known for his time with the Seattle Seahawks, where he built them into one of the most successful franchises in the NFL and won a Super Bowl in 2014. He also lost a Super Bowl to Brady and the New England Patriots, but now the two are on the same page, and Carroll is excited about what is to come with this franchise.

Carroll recently did an interview with Brock and Salk of Seattle Sports, where he discussed his relationship with Brady and the desire to infuse that competitive mentality that Brady is known for throughout the entire Raiders organization, via Raiders1022 on X:

Brady is undoubtedly one of the greatest and fiercest competitors not just in NFL history, but in all of sports period. He put in an amazing amount of work to be the best he could be and was willing to do anything possible to win, which is what Carroll wants to see throughout the entire Raiders organization.

It is great that Carroll and Brady are talking regularly about what needs to be done, as everyone being on the same page is imperative to the success of a franchise. The Raiders are one of the biggest brands in the NFL and one of the most successful organizations in league history, but it has been far too long since they’ve been a real contender. Now with Brady and Carroll on board, leading the charge, that will hopefully change soon.

Raiders to face New England Patriots in 2025 regular season opener

The Raiders are hoping the 2025 season is the first step towards that return to success and contention, and their first game of the year could go a long way towards establishing that.

The Raiders will hit the road to face the New England Patriots in their 2025 regular season opener in a very intriguing game between two teams looking to re-establish themselves. Then, of course, there are the connections between Raiders minority Tom Brady and the Patriots whom he spent most of his career with, as well as Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who was previously the Raiders head coach.
