With Antonio Brown set to become a free agent, it appears the Oakland Raiders and New Orleans Saints are among the notable teams looking to trade for his services.

Brown and the Pittsburgh Steelers have made it clear their time together has come to a close. As a result, Pittsburgh is now in the process of fielding offers from around the league.

It is safe to say there is no shortage of interest in a player of Brown’s caliber. Despite his tumultuous end to the 2018 NFL season, he is still one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.

According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, the Raiders and Saints are interested in a potential trade for Brown:

The prospect of the Saints being interested in Brown is certainly not too far-fetched. This is a team that is always looking forward to upgrading their roster and Brown has made it clear that he would like to play with an elite quarterback, which is the exact category Drew Brees falls under.

However, it remains to be seen whether or not the Raiders would actually be willing to follow through on a trade. After all, they spent the entire 2018 season parting ways with their Pro Bowl-caliber talent in exchange for future draft picks.

Among those that departed from Oakland was Amari Cooper. It would not make much sense for the Raiders to trade the pick they got for Cooper and flip it for a receiver that is six years older, especially when they are in the midst of a rebuild.

Regardless, the front office will need to find a viable safety net for Derek Carr this offseason. Despite the redundancy of a potential trade Brown, there is no question that he would be welcomed with open arms by the Raiders.
