Maxx Crosby embodies everything that it means to be a member of the Las Vegas Raiders and is truly the heart and soul of this team. Crosby has also grown into the vocal leader of the Raiders and has made it clear that he doesn’t want to be anywhere else.
This is a big reason why Crosby is so respected and beloved by his teammates and Raiders fans alike. He is one of the best defensive players in the NFL today, but he cares far more about team success than his own individual accolades.
Crosby recently appeared on The Jim Rome Show and said that he is inspired by the likes of Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant among others, who stayed with one team and plans on doing the same with the Raiders and winning a Super Bowl in Las Vegas, via Christian Gonzales of NFL.com:
“The guys who inspire me are the Kobes (Bryant) and the (Michael) Jordans; the guys that stayed at the same place and won in the same place,” Crosby said. “No offense to the guys like LeBron and those dudes — I won’t give them some heat, but they took the easier road traveled and that’s not the way I look at it.
“Going through the ups and downs and the hardships is going to make it that much sweeter when I do win a Super Bowl. So, I plan on being here for a very long time and I plan on winning here. You know when I signed that contract, I didn’t have any type of, you know, thought of leaving or idea of leaving. I feel like I’m going to be a Raider for life.”
Not everyone embraces this kind of mindset, but that is what makes Crosby special. The defensive end is truly a one-of-a-kind talent, and he is committed to making sure the Raiders are back at the top of the NFL.
Nothing has stopped Crosby from dominating on the field so far, and the silver and black are truly lucky to have him as the leader and face of this franchise going forward.

The Raiders also know how important Maxx Crosby is to this franchise and decided to reward him for the upcoming season as well.
The franchise gave Crosby a $6 million raise for the upcoming season without adding any extra years to his contract, an almost unprecedented move within the league. The Raiders also moved $1.2 million from Crosby’s 2026 salary into 2025.
