The Oakland Raiders suffered a thorough beat down in their Week 3 matchup against the Washington Redskins. What many felt would be an offensive showcase between two dynamic offenses developed into a one-sided affair which involved Oakland’s offensive line being dismantled by Washington’s defensive front.

Seeing the offensive line struggle was a rarity, but wide receiver Amari Cooper has unfortunately consistently dropped passes during the 2017 NFL season. Cooper dropped a crucial first down pass bringing his total to six already.

According to Michael Wagaman of the SFGate, head coach Jack Del Rio has noticed the young receiver’s struggles, but seems confident that they will find a solution.

He’s a dynamic player for us,” Del Rio said Monday. “Not a good thing when he’s not catching the ball and making those plays. We’ve gotta find a way to help that be rectified.

“We’d like to find a way to help him get through that, He’s a dynamic play-making option for us, and when we get him free and get the ball to him delivered like that, we’ve got to be able to catch it and go get busy.”

Cooper currently leads the league in drops and drop rate for receivers with at least 10 targets, according to Pro Football Focus. The Raiders will need him to improve his consistency if they want to be successful moving forward.

Things are not looking to get any easier with the team flying out to face their division rivals the Denver Broncos in Week 4. The Broncos’ defense is notorious for their tenacity on the defensive end, so the silver and black are going to have to perform admirably on both sides of the ball if they hope to pick up a win.
