Through four weeks of the 2024 NFL season, the Las Vegas Raiders already find themselves in the midst of some drama after it was reported star wide receiver Davante Adams has officially asked for a trade.

It seemed like this move was coming for a while now as Adams has been openly frustrated with the team’s performances and handling of the roster since he came to Las Vegas, and his time with the team appears to finally be coming to an end. Adams is currently dealing with a hamstring injury and is unlikely to suit up in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos, but this shouldn’t deter teams from trying to trade for him.

Although he’s past his prime, Adams remains one of the best wideouts in the league and would help out any team that’s in need of a boost in the passing game. When Adams’ request was made public, the New York Jets were immediately brought up as a suitor.

The Jets have been linked to Adams since they traded for Aaron Rodgers, and while the Raiders are open to reuniting the two they are reportedly looking for the best deal possible via Mike Garafolo of NFL Network:

On paper, this is the correct approach for Las Vegas to take as they should try to extract the best draft picks possible in a potential Adams trade. Although his contract is a potential snag in any deal, teams should be able to find a workable solution when the time comes.

Aside from New York, teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills, New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys are expected to inquire about Adams. The NFL trade deadline is set for Nov. 5, so this trade ordeal could very well last until the final horn sounds.

Raiders’ Davante Adams hasn’t heard from Antonio Pierce since social media incident

Adding more fuel to the fire regarding Adams’ trade request is when Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce liked a social media post suggesting the wideout would be traded. When asked about the situation, Adams revealed that he hasn’t heard from Pierce since which could indicate that the two sides are destined to part.
