The Las Vegas Raiders have continued their revamping of their offensive line by signing unrestricted free agent guard Spencer Burford.

Burford was a fourth-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2022 out of the University of Texas-San Antonio. He has spent his first four years with the 49ers, appearing in 56 games with 38 starts over that time. He is also familiar with new Raiders coach Klint Kubiak who served as the Niners passing game coordinator in 2023.

The Raiders’ offensive line was one of the worst in the league last season with the team ranking dead last in the NFL in rushing yards while also allowing the most sacks in the NFL. The team made former Baltimore Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum the highest paid player at his position in league history and now the addition of Burford should help to elevate this unit’s depth even further.

The Raiders would now seem to have their interior line all set with Burford and Jackson Powers-Johnson at the guard spots surrounding the three-time Pro Bowler Linderbaum. The Raiders also brought in Connor Heyward to play fullback as they will look to establish the run game at a much better rate this season.

With the team expected to take Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the first overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft, the Raiders are doing everything possible to have all the right pieces around him to make things easier on a rookie signal-caller. An improved offensive line with a dynamic running back in Ashton Jeanty, and tight end Brock Bowers as a primary target, gives the Raiders the foundation to be much improved in 2026.

Raiders star Maxx Crosby opens up about rescinded Ravens trade

The defense of the Raiders will still be led by star defensive end Maxx Crosby after the Baltimore Ravens backed out of the trade that would have sent him away. And now Crosby has spoken about what went down while he was at the Ravens facility and finding out that the trade had been rescinded.
