The Las Vegas Raiders are set to begin a new era. Retired iconic quarterback Tom Brady is a minority owner with his hands all over everything within the organization, and the team also hired a new head coach in Pete Carroll, a former Super Bowl Champion with the Seattle Seahawks.

Carroll was brought in to set the foundation for this Raiders franchise, bringing in standards and organization to push this team back into postseason and eventually Super Bowl contention. And from what Brady sees, he’s doing a good job so far.

Ahead of the Raiders’ 2025 regular season opener against Brady’s former team, the New England Patriots, the minority owner spoke highly of Carroll and the job he is doing so far in Las Vegas, via Pat Pickens of Heavy.com:

“Pete’s really done a tremendous job, like a lot of coaches with veteran experience are able to do,” Brady told Cris Collinsworth on his show on Pro-Football Focus. “They run a real program. Nothing really surprises them. Pete has had a tremendous record of success when he was at Seattle, obviously when he was at USC. He’s a tremendous coach and leader.”

Brady would continue, noting that he believes Carroll is giving the Raiders the tools to compete in arguably the best division in football with a trio of elite NFL head coaches:

“They’re in a division where Andy Reid is very much the same; Jim Harbaugh has done an incredible job; Sean Payton, we all know the kind of coach he is,” Brady said. “I think the Raiders having a figurehead at that position gives them a great chance to compete, so I think it’s going to be an exciting division. I think it’s one of the top-two divisions in football right now.”

The AFC West is certainly stacked, and Carroll is gonna have to have the Raiders clicking on all cylinders to keep up with their rivals, which of course includes the Kansas City Chiefs, who have made three consecutive Super Bowl appearances. The Raiders are still in the beginning stages, but Carroll looks to have them on the right track as the season is set to begin.
