Another wrinkle has been added for the Oakland Raiders and owner Mark Davis in their possible relocation to Las Vegas, as NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has spoken on the matter.

Talks have really heated up in the past few weeks, as the state of Nevada approved a bill to build a $750 million stadium in LAs Vegas for the Raiders to play in.

Davis has said that if the stadium is built then he will come, as he is not just using Las Vegas as leverage to get a new stadium built in Oakland.

With the bill being approved it was thought that all that needed to happen was an approval from the NFL owners, but Goodell recently said that more needs to happen, via Marc Sessler of NFL.com:

“There’s still a great deal of information that we need to gather with respect to the circumstances we see in Las Vegas, the opportunities and also the challenges,” Goodell said from the Fall League Meeting in Houston. “Those are the things we’ll look at through the committee, and report back to them maybe as early as December, but more likely later than that.”

The Raiders recently gave a presentation to Goodell and others about their stadium plans, and Goodell seemed to be impressed:

“As it specifically relates to the Raiders, the presentation was informative. It was factual,” Goodell said. “The membership had the opportunity to ask questions. The chairman of the committee, Art Rooney, made it very clear that this is something that is a significant focus of the stadium committee, has been and will be going forward.”

It appears that the possible move may be put on hold at least until the end of this season as the league reviews the proposal.

While it still seems as if the Raiders will end up in Las Vegas, Goodell is not going to making things easy for Davis.
