The 2020 NFL season is just around the corner as the Las Vegas Raiders are reporting to their new practice facility in Henderson this week to begin coronavirus (COVID-19) testing ahead of the start of training camp.

The Raiders’ draft class got a head start as they reported over the weekend for their first coronavirus tests, also signing all of their respective rookie contracts so they can hit the field.

It’s no secret that the Raiders’ 2020 draft class is highly-touted as they had two first-round picks in Henry Ruggs III and Damon Arnette as well as a bunch of picks in the third and fourth rounds.

Fans had the chance to see them in their Silver and Black uniforms for the first time after they reported as the Raiders posted a video of them getting fitted in their new equipment:

The Raiders are coming off a 7-9 season in which they missed the postseason for the third consecutive year. Expectations are much higher in 2020 though as they begin a new era in Las Vegas, so it will be up to the rookies and other young players to step up right away to help get the organization back to the glory.

That won’t be easy considering the lack of on-field time they will have due to the coronavirus pandemic. All NFL organizations were limited to virtual meetings and workouts during the offseason, and now training camp is off to a late start due to players needing to get tested. Additionally, the NFL has already shortened the preseason from four to two games, and they could eliminate it altogether in the coming days.

While that doesn’t leave the Raiders much time to get prepared for the 2020 season, it seems everyone is as hungry as ever to get back on the field and get to work, which will bode well for Jon Gruden and his squad this season.
