Although Antonio Brown has not been with the Oakland Raiders for very long, he has wasted no time in getting acquainted with his new quarterback in Derek Carr.
There was plenty of speculation regarding Brown’s future following his unceremonious departure from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite multiple conflicting reports this offseason, he is now officially a Raider.
One of Brown’s most notable traits has always been his work ethic. He solidified that notion as soon as he touched down in Oakland.
He was even recently spotted getting to work with Carr on the field, via TMZ Sports:
Carr made it clear that he would love nothing more than for the Raiders to acquire Brown and the front office granted his wish after parting ways with a third round and fifth round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Despite his tumultuous end to the 2018 campaign with the Steelers, Brown is still widely considered one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. His arrival automatically gives Oakland a bonafide No. 1 wide receiver to experiment with moving forward which should do wonders for Carr’s budding resurgence in 2019.
It is no secret that Oakland will need all the help they can get this offseason if they hope to be competitive in the 2019 NFL season. Although Brown was a nice addition, they still have a number of other voids to fill on the roster.
Perhaps the most encouraging aspect of the Brown trade is that they managed to beef up their offense tremendously without having to part ways with any of their first round draft picks. This will certainly go a long way in speeding up their current rebuild.
