The Las Vegas Raiders offense remains largely intact despite the big move to swap out Derek Carr for Jimmy Garoppolo at the quarterback position.

The Raiders soured on Carr toward the end of the 2022 season and released him in the offseason, paving the way for the organization to sign Garoppolo in free agency. Although Garoppolo is the new guy on the roster, Las Vegas can rest easy knowing they’ve got the primary pieces on offense still in place.

Davante Adams figures to once again be the focal point of the passing game, and the All-Pro receiver has shown no signs of decline. Adams turned in another sensational season in his first season donning the Silver and Black, and he’ll look to lead the Raiders once again.

Joining Adams in the passing game is rookie wideout Tre Tucker whom Las Vegas took No. 100 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. Tucker is an intriguing young prospect on the field, and Adams took an opportunity to poke fun at him during a recent practice via Logan Reever of 8 News Now:

In the short video clip, Adams and the rest of the team are seen jogging out to the field. Adams seems to point to Tucker and funnily imitates the young receiver’s jogging form.

It’s always fun for fans to see players like Adams get loose and rib their teammates, and surely Tucker enjoyed seeing the veteran copy him. The two look like they’re already getting along, which bodes well, as they will need to work together to help keep the offense on schedule.

Tucker is a little undersized, but he’s got the field-stretching ability that should help open up the short and intermediate areas on the field. Fortunately for him, he’s got quite the player in Adams, who he can learn from as he acclimates to the league.

Davante Adams proud of Jimmy Garoppolo after he made his Raiders debut

Garoppolo spent most of the offseason rehabbing his foot after undergoing a procedure, but he was able to return to the practice field and play in the Raiders’ second preseason game. Garoppolo only played one series, but looked impressive, leading what ended up being a touchdown drive.

Even in limited action, Adams came away impressed with his new quarterback and said he was proud of him for the performance.
