The Oakland Raiders notched their second win of the preseason over the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday. While Derek Carr did take the field for the first time in 2019, star wide receiver Antonio Brown was held out of play.

Despite that, the Raiders gave a little tease of what the regular season will look like. Brown and Carr practiced together ahead of the Thursday night matchup in Arizona.

The Raiders shared a short clip of the two on their Twitter hours before the game:

Brown appears to be able to run and play at full speed. Needless to say, this is extremely encouraging after he missed most of Training Camp due to his frostbitten feet.

Of course, injured feet was not the only controversy surrounding Brown this offseason. Brown was reportedly prepared to retire if he could not find his preferred helmet, although he denied that after the win over the Cardinals.

After his petition to the NFL to use an old helmet was denied, Brown was forced to find a new one and it appears he was able to do so. Brown is not wearing a helmet in the video the Raiders posted, but he was seen sporting one for a big portion of his pregame workout session.

While Brown wasn’t able to show off what he can do in the game, Carr looked good in his first preseason action. He connected with newly acquired wide receiver Ryan Grant for a 13-yard touchdown pass on the Raiders first drive of the game. Carr threw for 40 yards on his two passes in his only drive.

The hope is that after looking healthy in his workout on Thursday, Brown can return to the practice field as soon as early next week. That is definitely positive news for a Raiders team who desperately needs it after all of the bad injury luck they have had so far this year.
