The Oakland Raiders flurry of roster moves continued on Saturday as the team announced that they have signed free agent running back Mack Brown and waived guard Lukayus McNeil.
Brown originally signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2015 out if Florida. He has also spent time in the Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings organizations, most recently spending almost all of the 2018 season on the Redskins practice squad.
Redskins head coach Jay Gruden is the brother of Raiders head coach Jon Gruden, of course.
Brown has appeared in 13 games throughout the course of his career, carrying the ball 16 times for 111 yards and a touchdown while also adding two receptions for nine yards.
In 49 career games at Florida, Brown had 210 carries for 805 yards and four touchdowns, while also grabbing 18 passes for 78 yards.
The Raiders backfield has undergone some changes this offseason. They originally brought in free agent Isaiah Crowell, but he suffered a season-ending Achilles injury during offseason workouts. Oakland also drafted Josh Jacobs out of Alabama in the first round, so he is expected to be the team’s starter.
McNeil was an undrafted free agent that the Raiders signed this spring, although it looks like he fell victim to roster numbers.
