The Las Vegas Raiders have had a busy offseason as not only have they made the move to the desert from Oakland, but they also have been one of the most active teams in free agency.
The Raiders had around $57 million in cap space at their disposal and didn’t waste any time spending it, adding a variety of talented players to their organization like Cory Littleton, Nick Kwiatkoski, Marcus Mariota, Eli Apple and Carl Nassib, among others.
While it seems that a bulk of their offseason work is done other than the draft, NFL teams always find a way to circumvent the cap to create more space, and it appears that’s what the Raiders are doing.
According to Field Yates of ESPN, the Raiders have converted some of center Rodney Hudson’s salary into a fully guaranteed roster bonus to free up some extra cap space:
The Raiders converted $11.6M of C Rodney Hudson's base salary into a fully guaranteed roster bonus, while adding two void years to his deal, creating $9.28M in cap space for 2020. Some extra space for the Raiders during a busy free agency period and with two first round picks.

Hudson agreed to a contract extension before the start of the last season that made him the highest-paid center in the league, and deservingly so as he has been a stable factor for the Raiders’ offensive line, being named to the Pro Bowl three of the last four years.
This does not change anything in regard to the length of his contract, which goes through the 2022 season. What is does is open up $5.24 million in cap space, per overthecap.com, which the Raiders can now use to add free agents or pay their draft picks.
