Raiders Rumors: Lynn Bowden Jr. Traded To Dolphins

The Las Vegas Raiders and all other NFL teams are making a number of roster moves on Saturday in order to get their active rosters down to the required 53 players.

The Raiders’ roster is expected to look a lot different in 2020 after making a number of additions both in free agency and the draft.

In particular, the Raiders brought in a number of offensive skilled position players to get Derek Carr some much-needed weapons to work with.

One of those players is Lynn Bowden Jr., who was taken in the third round this year after playing wide receiver, running back and quarterback in addition to returning punts in his time at Kentucky.

The thought was that the Raiders were very high on Bowden’s skill set and that he would make an immediate impact right away in his rookie season. It appears that is not the case though as Ian Rapoport of NFL Network is reporting that Las Vegas is trading him and a sixth-round pick to the Miami Dolphins for a fourth-rounder:

The fourth-round pick in 2021 is actually the Raiders’ as they recently sent it to Miami to acquire linebacker Raekwon McMillan.

With the Raiders trading Bowden away before he even played a single game with the team, that signifies that he likely did not have a very good training camp.

Carr still has plenty of other options to work with at wide receiver in Henry Ruggs III, Hunter Renfrow, Nelson Agholor, Bryan Edwards and Zay Jones, which ultimately made Bowden expendable.
