The Las Vegas Raiders players have begun reporting to the team’s practice facility in Henderson for the start of training camp, although first, they must undergo three days of coronavirus (COVID-19) testing before they can hit the field.

The Raiders’ quarterbacks and rookies reportedly early so it has already been announced that they completed their testing and are allowed access to the training facility for workouts and meetings.

Once training camp begins, players then will be tested every day in addition to a number of other protocols to ensure their safety.

It appears the Raiders may have already had their first positive test as according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, running back Devontae Booker is expected to be placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list:

Just because Booker is playing on this list doesn’t mean he has tested positive for coronavirus. It could be that, or he could have just come in contact with someone that tested positive and the organization is being cautious.

Raiders head coach Jon Gruden held his first press conference on Thursday, although he would not comment on Booker, who the team signed this offseason to compete for their final running back spot on the roster.

It’s no secret that Josh Jacobs will be the team’s workhorse with Jalen Richard also seeing some time in passing situations. Raiders rookie Lynn Bowden Jr. should also figure into the mix, so that leaves Booker and Rod Smith competing for the final running back spot on the roster.

While it’s unclear how long Booker will be out, if he tested positive for coronavirus then it will be at least a couple of weeks, which is a significant portion of training camp.
