The Oakland Raiders have undergone wholesale changes, both on and off the field, in preparation of their relocation to Las Vegas for the 2020 NFL season.

In addition to the coaching staff and roster shakeups that took place over the offseason, the Raiders will have a different look in the broadcast booth as well.

The organization is set to name Brent Musburger as the lead play-by-play announcer after he agreed to a three-year contract to become the Raiders’ new voice on the radio, via Gilbert Manzano of the Las Vegas Review-Journal:

The iconic voice of Brent Musburger soon will be calling games for the Raiders, the Review-Journal learned Tuesday.

Musburger has agreed to a three-year deal to be the radio play-by-play announcer for the Raiders starting this season, according to two sources familiar with the move. Both were not authorized to discuss the hiring.

Musburger, 79, most notably enjoyed a 22-year stint with CBS Sports before joining ESPN in 1990, where he’d spend the next 17 years before announcing his retirement from the sports broadcasting world in 2017.

Musburger recently served as an anchor for the Vegas Stats & Information Network, where he extensively covered a wide variety of sports with an emphasis on gambling.

Musburger replaces legendary Bay Area sports announcer Greg Papa, who served as Oakland’s play-by-play announcer on the radio for over two decades.
