The Las Vegas Raiders have released a statement regarding the precautions they will take in response to the outbreak of coronavirus around the world.

The Raiders are in the midst of a busy offseason as they prepare for their relocation to Allegiant Stadium to usher in a new era for the 2020 NFL season. Unfortunately, it seems they will need to start getting to work under some new restrictions in order to do their part in preventing the disease from spreading.

Of course, the timing is hardly ideal with the 2020 NFL Draft just a month away. The team was ready to kick things off in style with the events being held in Las Vegas for the first time, however, it is safe to assume that this could put a damper in those plans.

Among the precautions they will be taking are pulling their scouts off the road and instructing employees to work from home:

The Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints have led the charge when it comes to taking precautions after preventing members of their staff from traveling to the various pro days around the nation. The rest of the league may also have to get a head start on finding ways to continue the scouting process from home.

The NBA made headlines with their decision to suspend the 2019-20 season until further notice after it was revealed that Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert and guard Donovan Mitchell testing positive for COVID-19. The fact that many NBA and NFL teams are in the same cities where there are a growing number of cases indicates that they may very well need to follow the same course of action.

Although the NFL can take solace in the fact that the start of next season is still scheduled to be six months away, the timeline could be pushed back if the concern regarding the coronavirus does not start trending in a more positive direction.
