The Oakland Raiders announced that they have placed offensive lineman Jordan Devey on IR and promoted wide receiver Marcell Ateman and offensive lineman Lester Cotton Sr. from the practice squad. The Raiders had an additional roster spot available due to Vontaze Burfict’s suspension.

Devey started the first four games of the season first at left guard and then shifting over to right guard when Richie Incognito returned from suspension. He tore his pectoral muscle during the Raiders’ Week 4 win against the Indianapolis Colts though so will miss the remained of the season.

Denzelle Good is expected to get the start at right guard in Week 5 against the Chicago Bears, but Gabe Jackson is expected back in Week 7 after the bye.

Cotton went undrafted out of Alabama before signing onto the Raiders’ practice squad at the beginning of the season. He will serve as valuable offensive line depth.

Ateman is a familiar face after the Raiders drafted him in the seventh round in 2018 out of Oklahoma State. He appeared in seven games his rookie season, hauling in 15 receptions for 154 yards and one touchdown. With the Raiders adding a handful of wide receivers to the organization this offseason though, he wound up on the practice squad to start the year.
