Raiders OC Greg Olson On Josh Freeman: ‘I’ve Always Been A Fan’

After being released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this week, veteran quarterback Josh Freeman is officially a free agent and was immediately linked with the Oakland Raiders.

Shortly after hitting the open market, the Raiders reportedly expressed interest in signing the 25-year-old quarterback. With ties to offensive coordinator Greg Olson and a need for a solid backup in Oakland, Freeman appears to be in the team’s crosshairs.

Along with the team potentially targeting Freeman, there seems to be mutual interest with the young quarterback texting someone at Bay Area based radio show, 97.5 The Game during one of their broadcasts on Oct. 3:

Not only does Freeman seem to be an ideal candidate with Matt Flynn clearly not the answer behind starter Terrelle Pryor, but Olson gave his former quarterback in Tampa Bay quite the endorsement saying the following via Scott Bair of CSNBayArea.com:
