The NFL recently announced that the Week 8 matchup between the Oakland Raiders and Houston Texans has been moved from 10 a.m. PT to 1:25 p.m. PT.
Subsequently, the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts game has moved to the earlier time slot in its place.
The schedule flex is in response to the Raiders’ turnaround as they currently sit at 3-2 along with the Texans. While the Colts have managed to stay competitive despite Andrew Luck’s sudden retirement in the offseason, the Broncos have largely struggled and own a paltry 1-4 record.
This is also another indication that Jon Gruden’s squad is beginning to catch the attention of the rest of the league as they have suddenly hit a groove on both sides of the ball. While the defense has been able to get much-needed stops in critical moments, the offense has built its identity upon its improved offensive line and running game.
Their game against the Texans may turn into a high-scoring affair as third-year quarterback Deshaun Watson has proven to be one of the league’s most electric players thanks to his ability to find receivers downfield as well as make plays with his legs. DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller are one of the most dangerous receiving duos in the league and will surely test what has been a suspect Raiders secondary.
After Oakland comes back from their Week 6 bye, they will head on the road to play a surging Green Bay Packers team. Hopefully they are able to build upon their wins and keep the momentum going before their Week 8 tilt with Houston.
