Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden announced at Friday’s practice that right tackle Trent Brown has been ruled out of Sunday’s Week 14 game against the Tennessee Titans.
This will be Brown’s second missed game this season as he was not able to play in Week 7 against the Green Bay Packers due to a knee injury. He is now dealing with a pectoral injury that will keep him out this week, which is essentially a must-win game for the Raiders if they want to stay in the postseason picture.
The Raiders signed Brown to a record-breaking contract for an offensive lineman this past offseason and so far he has earned that money as Oakland boasts one of the best offensive lines in football.
With him missing the game against the Titans though, Brandan Parker is expected to get the start in his place. Parker started 12 games for the Raiders last season, although he has been relegated to the bench and has only appeared in seven games this year.
At 6-6, the Raiders are currently one game out of the second AFC Wild Card spot. One of the teams ahead of them is the Titans at 7-5, so the Oakland-Alameda Coliseum will play host to one of the most important games of the year this Sunday, and unfortunately, the Raiders will be without one of their best players.
